first off, i don’t know why i’m explaining this on my personal blog rather than my clay blog, but whatever. it’s happening this way.

this was one of those things that i made in about an hour and i ended up staring at for another hour.

it’s been a while since i made anything out of clay that doesn’t serve any function or purpose.  it’s part of a semi-open ended assignment.  it’s been a long time since i’ve had ‘assignments’ in any clay course, because my ceramics classes for the past year and a half have been self guided.  this is for advanced handbuilding, and in the past with assignments i would just do them to get a grade i found acceptable, and that was that.

but i really want this to look good.

which is why i was just staring at it for a while.

i still can’t make my mind up on it; i have no idea if i actually like it or not yet, and that is utterly frustrating.
